KinderGolf, the world’s first and only preschooler golf specialist for young children from ages two to seven, is opening its first KinderGolf school in Fountain Valley, Orange County, California, USA on 1st February 2008.

“We are very excited to open our first flagship KinderGolf school in the USA. This flagship school marks KinderGolf as the world’s only preschooler golf specialist to span Asia and the USA, the largest golf markets in the world. It allows KinderGolf to bridge a greater sharing and exchange of knowledge, systems and technologies between the USA and Asia. Founded in 2000, KinderGolf provides an innovative learning environment that teaches each child golf in a fun, safe and holistic way, with creative children-specific teaching methodology and instructional aids under the KinderGolf Developmental System (KDS).

The success stories of 11 leading Asian companies will be told in a new six-part series
to be aired on Channel NewsAsia.

“Asian Dragons Rising” will profile their challenges and experiences and give an insight into how these companies are riding on the region’s dynamic economic growth.

Produced in partnership with Stratagem Consultants, the series will debut on January 25 on Channel NewsAsia Singapore and Channel NewsAsia International, which can be viewed in over 20 territories in Asia.

The 11 companies featured together operate in up to 72 countries and in a myriad of industries - from online games and retail to education, technology and property development.

One of the companies is KinderGolf.

Ms Alicia Huang is a golf instructor. But her students are not the typical group of adult learners. Instead, they are a group of giggly, adorable and sometimes bratty two- to seven-year-olds. Far from being a bunch of little terrors, her young charges are a joy to teach, she finds. She considers her job a privilege as she values the chance to groom the next generation of golf players.

The Asian edition of The Wall Street Journal this weekend is running a story about a new trend in that part of the world: organized golf programs for kids as young as 2. In Singapore, a chain of eight schools called KinderGolf gets tots swinging clubs in brightly colored storefront locations. The instructors, all women chosen for their nurturing qualities, don’t force the toddlers to train, but the walls are lined with mirrors and giant photographs of golf greats like Ben Hogan and Ernie Els. By age 7, the most advanced golfers are regularly playing in nine-hole tournaments.
