Collaboration between KinderGolf and Tan Tock Seng Hospital GOLFfit Programme to support holistic golf development for children

KinderGolf, the world’s first and only preschooler golf specialist for young children from two to seven years old, signed a service agreement with Tan Tock Seng Hospital today. Together they will be introducing an innovative golf physiotherapy assessment programme – GOLFfit, to all children golfers in Singapore.

“We are excited to embark on this partnership with GOLFfit to bring the best-in-class golf physiotherapy programme to all children golfers seeking optimal golf development. This partnership supports KinderGolf’s goal to develop all young golfers as holistically as possible.” – says Ms. Donna Lee, Founder & CEO, KinderGolf.

Founded in 2000, KinderGolf provides an innovative learning environment that teaches each child golf in a fun, safe and holistic way, with creative children-specific teaching methodology and instructional aids under the KinderGolf Developmental System (KDS). “We are impressed by KinderGolf’s foresight in recognizing the link between physical attributes and development of the body and optimal, safe golf. This collaboration marks the
commitment of KinderGolf in maximising the potential of these young golfers, developing their physical attributes, as well as facilitating safe play by preventing injuries and deformities in the developing child” says Mr Albert Tan, Chief Operating Officer, Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

The TTSH Golffit programme, conducted by certified golf physiotherapists, started with adult golfers who were keen to improve their game. It was warmly received with many of the golfer-clients reporting an improved endurance and swing distance. This new collaboration with KinderGolf was the next natural step for Golffit to extend its programme to children and adolescents.

Golf as a sport is attracting more young golfers. It is essential for these avid young ones to start on the game in a safe and effective manner. With thorough assessments of the physical attributes of the golfer-to-be, problems or likely problems such as deformities or injuries can
be detected early. Steps can then be taken to correct or prevent the problems from developing, so that the young ones can enjoy the game better and parents are reassured that their children are in safe hands.

This partnership is part of KinderGolf’s efforts to enhance the holistic developmental platform for children golfers. The Golffit assessments take into account the individual physical attributes and condition of each child towards optimal golf improvement. In addition, KinderGolf teachers will undergo golf specific physical conditioning and drills at Tan Tock Seng Hospital Physiotherapy Department as part of their overall golf training and development.

To kick-start the programme, golf assessment sessions for children will commence late January 2008 at select KinderGolf centers.
